The renaissance of blue and yellow

The colours of blue and yellow are enjoying a renaissance at the beginning of the new autumn/winter season of 2011 and are proving themselves to be essentials for the chilly time of year.

Blue – the new black

Black has been THE undisputed colour of elegance and a perfect look. This season, however, blue is emerging as being as diverse as its sophisticated competitor and is causing the hearts of fashion aficionados to beat faster. Allowing all the nuances of this great colour to be exploited. From azure via cobalt and petrol to royal blue, this colour has something special to offer in respect of peace and harmony. Blue accessories are eye-catching, and wearing a complete look in different shades of blue is an absolute must this autumn. Be it as a light chiffon dress, feminine trouser suit, elegant silk blouse or cool jeans – this colour has star potential.

Yellow – the colour of the sun?

Yellow is no longer the exclusive preserve of the sun gods Helios, Apollo and Sol. Fashion is going to shine in autumn/winter 2011 and create true fashion goddesses. Renowned designers and brands have expanded their repertoires with a beautiful mustard yellow for a wintery look and feel and are setting new standards in the process. Choose from sunny yellow to mustard or washed out and faded looks - these are just as spectacular as a bright neon yellow. Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci have already exhibited the colour’s different qualities on the catwalks of Paris and Milan. And for anyone who feels that Givenchy’s all-over look is too much of a good thing can combine an item in lemon with muted sand tone. This emphasises the eye-catching look and even the shyest shrinking violet will feel good in it. The rasch creative team has skilfully transferred these en vogue colours from the world of fashion to the world of wallpaper and offers sophisticated patterns with co-ordinating plains in some of its new collections.
